Bio:

Sarah has an MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies from the School for Advanced Studies/Refugee Law Initiative, for which her research focused on opportunities for improved protection of IDPs in Iraq. Since then, she has worked with young female IDPs and refugees in Iraq and the Kurdish Region of Iraq, and undertaken a summer fellowship with Researching Internal Displacement.

Sarah's research interests centre around the intersection of conflict, displacement, identity, marginalisation and resistance. She is particularly interested in the positionality of marginalised groups in conflict-affected areas; their experiences of displacement and protection, their expressions of agency and everyday resistance, as well as grassroots initiatives led by “ordinary” people navigating the everyday lived experience of conflict and displacement. The geographical regions she is most interested in are the Middle East and the Balkans.
