Prof. Liliana Lyra Jubilut





Liliana Lyra Jubilut holds a PhD and a Master in International Law from the Universidade de São Paulo and an LL.M. in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law. She was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School and is a Professor at the Postgraduate Programme in Law at Universidade Católica de Santos where she teaches Human Rights, Humanitarian Law, Refugee Law and International Law, and was the coordinator of the Sergio Vieira de Mello Chair in partnership with UNHCR. She has been working for over 16 years with the topic of refugees, mainly in Brazil and Latin America. She was a Lawyer at the Refugee Center of Cáritas Arquidiocesana de São Paulo (Brazil) in partnership with UNHCR and the Brazilian National Committee for Refugees (CONARE), and a consultant for UNHCR-Brazil. She coordinated a national research on migrants’ access to rights and services in Brazil for the Ministry of Justice’s “Pensando o Direito” series that was published in 2015.
