We are pleased to again be partnering with Commonwealth Scholarships Comission to offer 10 full scholarships for the October 2025 intake to our MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies (taught part-time and by distance learning).

The MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies has quickly become one of the largest programmes on forced migration in the world. It enables students to acquire a rigorous legal, practical and theoretical understanding of refugee protection and forced migration, whilst developing expertise through a choice of elective modules.

Applicants must already have been offered a place on our MA Programme.

Eligible countries

In 2025, these scholarships aim to contribute to the provision of specialist training to Nationals of member countries of the Commonwealth in Africa:

Botswana, Cameroon, Eswatini, Gabon, The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda and Zambia

Funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships enable talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development, and are aimed at those unable to study in the UK for financial and other reasons.
