Call for Applications: Summer School on Internal Displacement in the Middle East (20-24 June)

The Middle East Research Network on Internal Displacement (MERNID), in partnership with the Internal Displacement Research Programme (IDRP) at the University of London's Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) and the Lebanese American University's Institute for Migration Studies, cordially invites you to apply to our upcoming Summer School.

This five-day Summer School on “Internal Displacement in the Middle East” (20-24 June 2022) offers up to 40 participants from academia, government and civil society a firm understanding of the crisis of internal displacement in the region. Focusing on countries with protracted internal displacement dynamics, the School addresses the situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Middle East, the challenges that this issue presents, key elements of the humanitarian and development response, the legal and policy frameworks, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on IDPs.

We particularly welcome applications from academics, practitioners, researchers, government officials, civil society, Master and PhD students, as well as people with a Migration Studies background. The School runs entirely online in English and is free for the selected participants.

The deadline for applications is April 8, 2022. To apply for a place, send an email to rid@sas.ac.uk with the following PDF attachments, in English: a brief CV (max. 3 pages); and a covering letter explaining your motivation (max. 500 words). No application fee or programme fee for selected participants.
