Researching Internal Displacement and the Refugee Law Initiative are pleased to release this collection of articles in our new series, 'Internal Displacement in the Context of Criminal Violence'.
The five articles in the collection, recently published on the RID platform, were developed in collaboration with the Special Rapporteur on the human rights of internally displaced persons in relation to her 2025 Call for Inputs on this theme. You can view the collection here.
The collection includes a Preface by David Cantor and Steven Miron explaining the rationale for the new series, which aims to promote renewed engagement by researchers and practitioners with the profound questions that remain outstanding on the issue of internal displacement in the context of criminal violence. The series invites reflection on the state of existing research and the potential gaps in our thinking as well as stimulating new research, data and analysis of contexts where this phenomenon is observed. We welcome new contributions to the series.
