Bio

Atiqullah Sayed is an alumni of the School of Advanced Study, University of London. In October 2023, he started a PhD course at the University of East Anglia (UEA) which is a three to four-year course under the School of Social Work.

His research title is: What is the experience of asylum-seeking children in the care of the local authorities in the UK?

He has a refugee background and has a deep interest in researching asylum, refugees and immigration related matters. He is a social worker by background and has been serving the UK local authorities for the past 10 years. He has previously worked for the British Red Cross and the United Nations internationally in the area of peacekeeping and conflict resolution, but also dealing with refugees and IDPs.
