Carolina Montenegro has been for the last seven years an active practitioner in the humanitarian field with extensive experience on Communications and Advocacy projects. Supporting the UN, INGOs, and local actors' responses for people on the move, she had developed expertise in applied International Refugee Law, International Humanitarian Law, and IHRL in various contexts, specially the Middle East and North Africa. In her most recent position, with the Global Protection Cluster, she has co-led their Advocacy Task Team strengthening networks between local and global actors and fostering compliance to IHL and IHRL. Carolina has degrees in Journalism, Humanitarian Studies and International Advocacy, and has published on refugees and displacement issues in three books and several articles (BBC, The New Humanitarian, Forced Migration Review).
