Bio
Dr. Ergin works an Assistant Professor of International Law at Bilkent University Faculty of Law (Ankara, Türkiye). She holds an LL.M. in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex and a PhD in Public Law from Ankara University. With extensive experience in international human rights law and refugee law, she has worked with various international organizations. Prior to her academic career, she held a key position at the UNHCR (Ankara Office), where she played a pivotal role in decision-making and reviewing refugee status applications. Additionally, she provided invaluable legal advice to Turkish national authorities during the drafting and implementation of national asylum law No. 6458. She also coordinated several project activities with the National Asylum Authority. Her professional pursuits are focused on refugee law, forced migration, and human rights. She is committed to continuous improvement in these fields, actively engaging in publications and maintaining connections with scholars.
