Dr. Tual Sawn Khai completed his PhD in Sociology and Social Policy from Lingnan University in Hong Kong. His doctoral research delved into the intricate barriers encountered by Burmese irregular migrants in Thailand, specifically focusing on the obstacles to labour legalisation and access to healthcare. His research interests include various pressing topics, such as contemporary Myanmar affairs, poverty, higher education for refugees, forced migration, displacement, human rights, welfare policies, climate change, and the social determinants of health issues in Southeast Asia.
