Yasemin Karadag Avci completed her PhD in the School of Law at the University of Warwick with a thesis titled ‘Legal Integration of Syrian Refugees in Berlin, Germany: A Socio-Legal Study’ in 2023. She is currently a lecturer in International Relations Department at Hitit University in Çorum, Türkiye.
Prior to academia, Yasemin worked as a Project Coordinator at the Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants (ASAM) in Ankara, Türkiye. In addition to her academic studies, Yasemin works as an independent consultant for various projects for national and international organisations. Yasemin holds a master’s degree in International Relations from Ankara University, Türkiye and an LLM in Human Rights Law from Cardiff University, Wales. Her research interests encompass refugee integration, refugees’ perspective on integration, the legal aspects of integration, refugee rights and integration, German asylum law, and socio-legal studies.
