Florence Ncube is an Anthropologist who is interested in understanding the ways in which Rwandan army deserters navigate life in an exile context, in this case, South Africa. Her interest in exiled army deserters stems from the difficulties these people face resettling in their home countries because of the politicization of militaries in most African countries on the one hand and the complexities of resettling in the host country, on the other. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape and the title of her thesis is 'Navigating exile: Rwandan Army deserters in South Africa'.
