Bio

Lena Riemer is a Yale Schell Center Robina Fellow at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Berlin, Germany. She worked as a research and teaching assistant at Humboldt Universität Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, and Yale Law School and as Associate Protection Officer at UNHCR, Nuremberg, Germany. She holds an LL.M. from Yale Law School and a Ph.D. in international migration law from the Freie Universität Berlin (Title: The prohibition of collective expulsion in public international law). Currently, she works on domestic, regional, and international questions of extraterritorialization of migration control, border management, and identity document acquisition for refugees.
