Bio

Mohammed Ekbal Anak is about to defend his PhD thesis on the legal protection of internally displaced persons, at Faculty of Law, Damascus University. He has recently graduated with an Executive Master’s degree in Development Policies and Practices as a member of the first cohort of the Middle East and North Africa Region, delivered in partnership with the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Mohammed Ekbal is a core member of the Middle East Research Network on Internal Displacement (MERNID) hosted at the Refugee Law Initiative (RLI), School of Advanced Study, University of London. His profile combines legal, advocacy and project management experiences. He has researched the protection principles, binding legal frameworks, gender, nexus between displacement, climate change and human rights and women empowerment.
