Molly Gilmour is a Research Associate in Disaster Risk Reduction at Cardiff University. Molly is an interdisciplinary researcher, with previous involvement in a range of projects on healthcare preparedness to strengthen response systems to complex emergencies and to improve healthcare and disaster policy and practice in multi-hazard contexts across Europe, the Middle East, and sub-Saharan Africa. For her PhD, she completed a participatory ethnography-by-proxy of a paediatric thalassemia unit run by an international humanitarian medical organisation in Lebanon. Molly works across the disciplines of public health, community education and sociology, specialising in research in conflict-affected environments, and has worked in both academia and with international aid and development organisations.
