Prisca Kamungi is the outgoing Research and Documentation Analyst with the UNDP-Kenya Deepening Foundations of Peacebuilding and Community Security Programme 2014-2018. The programme supports the national peacebuilding architecture and electoral violence reduction. Before joining UNDP, Prisca was the Programme Coordinator and Senior Research Officer at South Consulting, the firm that monitored the implementation of the Kenya National Accord and Reconciliation Agreement from 2008-2013 on behalf of the African Union Panel of Eminent African Personalities. She also provided technical support to monitor implementation of other peace agreements, including the Peace, Security and Cooperation (PSC) Framework for the DRC and the Region and South Sudan’s CPA. She contributed to the development of the ICGLR Protocols and Projects on Humanitarian and Social Issues, and during the 2007/8 political crisis, supported UNICEF-Kenya’s Emergency Programme. Prisca has professional experience in the peace, security and humanitarian sector. She hass worked with the Government of Kenya, international agencies, NGOs in Eastern and South Africa and the Great Lakes region and taught at the University of Nairobi. She is widely published on refugees, IDPs, transitional justice, security sector reform, land, elections and peace-building. She is a board member of several schools and Civil Society Organisations in Kenya. She holds degrees in Education and International Studies. Prisca is United Nations University of Peace (U-PEACE) scholar, and is married with two children.
