Seun Bamidele

Bio

Seun Bamidele is a PhD Candidate (Development Studies) under ‘Core Social Science Cluster” in the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology, University of Pretoria, South Africa. He holds a bachelor degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; and earned his MSc. Degree in Peace and Security Studies at the Institute of Peace, Security and Governance, Ekiti State University, Nigeria.. His research project puts ethnographical case study to work by exploring the survival/coping strategies of women in Internally Displaced People’s (IDPs) Camps: A study in New Kuchingoro Camp, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nigeria. He has a particular interest in African studies, Anthropology of violence, Development and Humanitarian Studies. A prior recipient of research awards and fellowships. His scholarly work has been published in scholarly journals including GeoJournal; African Journal of Legal Studies, Ufahamu: Journal of African Studies; Social Change; African Conflict and Peacebuilding Review; India Quarterly: A Journal of International Affairs; International Journal on World Peace; International Journal on Minority and Group Rights; Jadavpur Journal of International Relations; Brazilian Journal of African Studies; and International Journal of Migration and Residential Mobility among others. He has contributed chapters to edited volumes most recent of which are ‘‘Xenophobia’ or ‘Afrophobia’: Policy Perspective’ (Lexington Books) and ‘From the Margin to the Mainstream: Dealing with the Scourge of Insecurity of Transit Migrants in Morocco’, (Springer Publisher).
