Bio

Zubaida Umar Baba is a PhD student at the University of Leeds whose research area is in the field of internal displacement. Her work intends to look at the ‘Environmental and social implications of the internally displaced people (IDPs) in northeast Nigeria' from a livelihood resilient perspective. 

Prior to undertaking a PhD, Zubaida was a lecturer at Bayero University Kano, Nigeria and was also engaged in a number of activities which involved supporting the IDPs. She is particularly interested in researching this group of people so as to find durable and more sustainable ways of assisting them especially the most marginalised.
